The success of A Greater Hope is evidence of the visionary leadership Jim Bultman provided as president of Hope College over the past 14 years. I’m deeply grateful for Jim’s commitment to strengthening the college academically, financially, and spiritually throughout his tenure.
Already this campaign has enhanced the college’s academic programs by adding over 100 endowed named student scholarships; 10 newly endowed faculty and staff positions; more than 20 departmental discretionary funds; and endowed programs for undergraduate research. Just as important, the campaign has created endowed programs in spiritual life, international education, and multicultural life, while dramatically improving instructional space for engineering and athletic facilities for soccer, baseball, softball, tennis, and football.
In addition, groundbreaking has taken place for the Kruizenga Art Museum, and we’re looking forward to an October groundbreaking for the Jack H. Miller Center for Musical Arts, pending the completion of the remaining funding needed. It’s an exciting time to be on campus.
While all these initiatives are significant in and of themselves, they are fundamentally tools in creating the environment that helps Hope accomplish its real mission—“educating students for lives of leadership and service in a global society through academic and co-curricular programs of recognized excellence in the liberal arts and in the context of the historic Christian faith.”
Won’t you join us in fulfilling that mission through your support in building A Greater Hope? We look forward to your partnership.
